Bowl Thoughts

Looks like the BCS got it right with Texas, much as I hate to admit it. The 'Horns delivered a Rose Bowl thriller with a last second field goal to beat Michigan.

Meanwhile Cal won this year's "All Tears, No Action" award as Texas Tech solidly thumped them in the Holiday Bowl on Thursday. Memo to teams who feel slighted in the bowl selection process: unless you're quite confident in your ability to deliver the goods in a supposedly inferior bowl, just shut up!

After seeing Utah dismantle Pitt, I'm still not sure the Utes belongs in the BCS, but I'm now quite certain that the Big East needs to have their automatic bid taken away.

As far as Utah is concerned, looks like we'll wind up this season with three undefeated teams. This is not to argue that Utah might deserve to be the National Champion. It's just a comment on how funny it looks to finish the season with three teams that haven't lost, and somehow one of them will be declared the champion.
